Cream cheese wontons?!
Answers: I'm obsessed and they are officially one of my favorite foods after i tried them for the first time a week ago and i was wondering if anyone knew a restaurant i could find them? Or possibly how to make them myself if it isnt too difficult?
You can find them at most chinese restaurants I've been to but here a recipe for them:
CREAM CHEESE WONTONS
6 oz. cream cheese
2 green onions, chopped
1/2 tsp. soy sauce, lite
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 c. seafood shreds (imitation crab meat)
Pkg. won ton wrappers, sm. squares
Blend together ingredients. Drop approximately 1 teaspoonful on each of the small size wrappers. Fold in corners and seal with egg white. Fry in hot oil until crispy and brown. Serve with Sweet & Sour Sauce.
It would help if you told where they you were?
I love those wontons too and actually walked a little more than a mile to buy some the other day. They're soo good! :D
A lot of your local Chinese restaurants have them, you can also check your local grocery store in the frozen food section sometimes they have them there :)

not difficult at all.... Get imitation crab and crumble it into two packages softened cream cheese... mix thouroughly with green onion, some garlic, and a couple tablespoons sugar to taste... The get a packages of wonton wrappers and spoon a tablespoon amount in the center, seal the edges like a rangoon with a bit of water and drop em in a deep fryer until golden brown
I also love them and I've made them. Just buy the wonton wrappers at your supermarket, mix creamcheese with imitation crab meat, stuff the wrappers with the mixture and fry in oil. Very easy. Good luck.
"pick up stix" has really good ones
PICK UP STIX :]
best cream cheese wontons
Most Chinese buffet's have them. I love them too and I made some not too long ago. Some grocery stores have a Asian section in the produce and if you find that does look for a package of square sliced uncooked dough that's used for making won-tons. When making them take a teaspoon of cream cheese (whatever flavor you'll think is good) and put it in the middle of the won-ton dough then fold all four corners together ..add to a preheated oil in a pan set on medium and cook till golden brown!
i don't know where u can find them. i've never tried them but they sound quite interesting, different, and delishious. sry i coudn't help u
CREAM CHEESE WONTONS
Ingredients
**************
Filling:
8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. curry powder
About 100 wonton skins
Sweet and Sour Dip:
1 1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
3/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp. catsup
3 tbsp. cornstarch
Procedure
*************
Mash cream cheese in a bowl with fork until smooth. Add egg yolks and curry powder; mix until completely lump-free; set aside. If time allows, refrigerate for 2 hours for easier handling. Combine sweet and sour ingredients in a saucepan; cook over medium heat while stirring constantly until sauce thickens; set aside. Using store-bought wonton wrappers or your own, place a teaspoon of cream cheese mixture on a wrapper. Gather up the edges; pinch to enclose. Set on cookie sheet; repeat with remainder. Heat 4 to 5 cups oil in wok or skillet to 350 degrees; fry 5 or 6 wontons at a time for 3 to 4 seconds or until light golden brown. They will puff up, so don't fry too many at once. Remove and drain on wire rack or paper toweling. Serve with warm dipping sauce.
