A fun & delicious way to spice up mashed potatoes is to try changing up the potato or throwing in another ingredient or two with the potato.

Try some of these:

sweet potato fries
spinach potatoes
cheddar mashed potatoes
mashed potatoes and goat cheese
buttermilk mashed potatoes
dill mashed potatoes

The recipe for these and tons of other variations is below

ps. you cant go wrong with mashed potatoes and steak

Try these, healthier and delicious.

Sweet Potato Fries

2 pounds sweet potatoes
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon low-sodium chili seasoning
Salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil; set aside.
Use peeler to peel sweet potatoes. Cut potatoes in half lengthwise then cut into 1/2-inch thick fries.
Place sweet potato fries in a large mixing bowl. Add oil and spices. Toss until they are thoroughly coated with spices.
Spread fries in a single layer on prepared baking sheet. Place in preheated oven. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes turning once to ensure even cooking. Remove from oven and serve hot.

I have the PERFECT IDEA.

Once the steak is cooked slice it into long thin slices.
Prepare the mashed potatoes ahead of time and place them
in a large bowl.
Satuee' a package of mushrooms in some butter and spices
and put them on top of the potatoes.
Then place the steak slices on the top.
Drizzle with sauce of choice

ITS AMAZING
Enjoy :)

How about Double Baked Potatoes? Bake 2 large potatoes. When they're soft, scoop out the insides and mash with lots of butter, some grated cheese, a little milk or sour cream, salt & pepper (and whatever other herbs you like)...stuff back into the potato shells, top with dabs of butter.... then reheat in the oven while you're bbqing the steaks.....
