What goes good with perogies?!
Question is what goes good with them? I usually do nothing but thats because I am a student male but I really care about this girl and want to put some effort into it. So nothing either that'll make our breath stink either :)
Answers: I have a special someone coming over dinner and she really likes perogies-- not a problem, I can actually make them.

I throw the perogies in boiling water for about two minutes then throw them in a hot buttered pan with onions and garlic (don't worry, both will carmelize and your breathe won't be kickin, if you both eat it, neither will notice anyways) Then I turn the heat to low, and let them do their thing in there. I serve those with sour cream.
Depending on what kind of girl she is, you could always do kielbasa and saurkraut on the side. There is nothing better. But if shes all uppity just give her a salad or something.
Cottage cheese is a traditional Pittsburgh side dish to go with perogies.
I don't care for it myself, but Kielbasa sausage would be good. How are you making the pierogis?
Sour cream with pierogis, and some kind of smoked sausage.
I usually saute some sausage & have a salad too.
Have fun!!
I boil and drain the perogies, then saute them in melted butter or bacon fat and minced onion, and serve it with crumbled bacon and parsley on top. You could also serve sour cream on the side.
In terms of the preparation of the pierogies themselves, I agree with Wiss (sauteed in butter with onions and served with sour cream). Now, as for something to accompany the pierogies, I would suggest some sort of pork dish. Either a tenderloin, or an oven pot roast, or maybe as a last resort some chops....good luck, I hope she loves it. I know I would.
I usually fry a ham steak with them.
