Now this is really tough! I gave up cooking creatively with my 2nd husband who had absolutely no appreciation. 1st husband love the homemade bread, the tea cakes and tea rolls, Swedish goodies.

Here you all are with incredible recipes, and what's a girl supposed to do?

You know, this group should put together a cook book. Your ideas and explanations are so good. Except I don't know what a Roastie is.... Ah, potatoes ... How about a potato cook book!

moris piper is the best roasting spud ..

i just season them place them in the roasting fat .. and baste regularly

Same as you only i use beef dripping, maris pipers, salt, pepper and a bit of rosemary.

Now I even get thumbs down talking about roasties, bloody hell.

I cheat, I get Mc Cain roasties. They are pre cooked and you just pop them in the oven for half hour and they are delicious.

Same as you but use goose fat

same as you only i use vivaldi potatoes from sainsbury. they taste a lot better and have a nice yellowy colour.i always take them out and recover them in oil after 10 mins.

I have no clue what a "roastie" is!

done it your way,and to be honest not worth the hassle, bag of aunt bessies...just as good if not better.

I do them the same way as you do, Maris Pipers are my preferred spud for roasting, just the way my Mum did them.

I cook mine like yours but roast them in duck fat even yummier.
No other spuds should be used.
