What ingredients do you use to make a really delicious fruit salad?!

Question: The quickest and tastiest fruit salad I've made since I've been on Earth:
Use a can of Delmonte tropical fruit mix, plus your choice of fresh fruit. I add slices of kiwi, mango and fresh strawberries. The syrup in the canned fruit helps keep the fresh fruit fresh longer and adds a delightful, tangy taste.
note: It's also a cheap way to make fruit salad during the recession!

I will use apples, oranges, banana, grapes, Cherry's, melon, anything really. But when it is all in the bowl I will cut a lemon and squeeze to all over and toss, serve over real vanilla ice cream.

grapes
bananas
orange segments
pear w/ skin
strawberries
pineapple
coconut

I love to make an all-one-color fruit salad, using honeydew melon, kiwi, and green grapes. I've also tossed in some celery for crunch, and a bit of chopped mint and lime juice for color/flavor. Very pretty in a bowl!

fruits

apples
green seedless grapes
mandarin oranges
bananas
raisins
chopped walnuts
pineapple

plain yogurt
little sugar and a little milk to make a delicious sauce

I never use bananas. Unless you're going to serve it immediately and use it all, they get all mushy.

To really make a great fruit salad, try to go beyond the usual fruits (apple, oranges, grapes, etc) and get kiwi, mangoes, star fruit, berries and pineapple. Sprinkling a little lemon juice on it is a good idea.

I like to use tropical fruit (mangoes, pinapple, papaya, kiwi etc) and toss with a little squeeze of lime, honey and toasted coconut.

I really depend on the season. In the winter I use diced oranges, grapes, mangos, pomegranates, and sometimes sprinkle a little coconut in. In the summer anything goes, especially watermelon, cant elope, strawberries. I like to have as many colors as possible and have some kind of fruit that is especially juicy. I usually don't use bananas because they brown and I don't like the whole salad tasting like lemon if I sprinkle lemon juice over the bananas to prevent browning. I'm getting a taste for fruit salad now!

The really important thing is a simple syrup to keep everything moist. Boil 1 part water, 1 part sugar until all dissolved and clear. Let cool. Then put your fruit into the cooled syrup.
