(and nothin perverted pleease)
These are very easy....and they taste like you have slaved away in the kitchen...
or if this doesn't appeal to you...make the pudding and use it to make a banana pudding...
you will need a box of vanilla wafers and 3 bananas
layer them starting with the wafers, then 1 sliced banana ..then pudding and repeat......ending with pudding......
congrates on your reunion....I have one son in the Navy and one in the Army who has been in Iraq for 18 months...he will be home in 3 weeks and his wife is beside herself.
éclairs.
to make the shell
boil 1 cup water,1/2 stick butter
remove from heat and add 1 cup plain flour...stir till blended
add 4 eggs 1 at a time...stirring egg in completely before adding another.
place by the spoonful on large cookie sheet...bake at 350 for 20 mins or till brown
Pudding
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C flour
3 cups milk
3 eggs yokes
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp butter
Combine Sugar flour and milk in med sauce pan...heat over med low heat until milk is hot....pour about 1 cup of hot milk into the beaten eggs to temper them.them pour into hot milk on stove...continue cooking and stirring until thick...remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
when shells are done let cool, split in half and remove some of the doughy insides to create a cavity for the pudding.
add pudding ,replace top and drizzle with chocolate sauce,,,,
Okay I know you said you weren't really going for choc cake, but this one is awesome easy and quick and maybe you can even do it another day.
I use one box of choc cake mix baked in to 8 in pans or 1 13x9 pan according to directions.
If you used the 13x9 pan then you can either cut it in half in the middle so there are 2 equal pieces or you can slice it like so it looks like 2 slices of bread.
You will also need wipped cream, homemade or pre-made and canned cherry pie filling.
Start with one layer and top it with the whipped cream and cherries, and then add the second layer and repeat. Enjoy.
Also remember that your bf has been eating bland, boiled meats. Yes they boil them then they grill them. So nice jiucy hamburger, or a steak (buy a couple eye of rounds, they are pretty cheap and are nice and thick) or pork chops seasoned with salt and pepper would also really be appreciated. A nice veggie to go eith would e to peel and slice some carrots and boil them until they are tender. Drain and then return to the pan with some butter and brown sugar.
Although anything that's not military cafeteria food will be great tasting to him. Good luck.
As the wife of a former Marine, I just want to say thank you to your boyfriend and yourself for your sacrifice. I don't have a recipe but wanted to say thank you and God bless.
My nephew is a Marine and he said he craved my sister-in-laws Chocolate Chip Cookies. Here's the funny part... they were not homemade.
I found a wonderful website that I often refer to if you are interested this is the website http://www.thespicehouse.com/recipes-by-...
I thought maybe you could bake simple chocolate chip cookies. When you take them out of the oven put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top with some fudge and whipped cream! Maybe you can feed each other.
Enjoy!
I would suggest that you make a lot. When my boyfriend got home from boot, he ate all the time, especially when he first got home. As for dessert, I might suggest a simple homemade ice cream. You can find recipes all over the net and homemade tastes really good. It will show him that you have done so much for him and he will love it.
