What is broken shrimp?!


Question: Is it just peeled, deveined with tails removed? I can find recipes but no descriptions.

Some shrimp break during handling and being in piles of thousands of shrimp( if you were ever on a shrimp boat)you would understand. They're sold at a cheaper price because they can't be sold as whole shrimp.
Nothing wrong with them if your gonna cook with them or make a salad.
For shrimp cocktail, they wouldnt look good however.

I would imagine it is shrimp that has been broken into pieces and not whole. That's what the canned kind is anyway.
