Repalce "schlagsahne" with what? for gratin potato dish?!


Question: what can i use here in the U.S for cooking to replace "schlagsahne" for crreams and sauces. I also want to make my gratin potato dish but i usally used the "schlagsahne", what can i use instead of that?

heavy cream(whipping) should work

whipped cream is the same thing

translated it means beat cream

Heavy cream would be the best choice, whipping cream does not have a high enough fat content for cooking.

I would use whiped cream but that is no replacement its only the translation.
