Measurement question, please help!?!

Question: I’m making Stout Chicken and the recipe that calls for 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves. I’ve looked and I couldn’t find any leaves but I did find ground thyme. I was wondering. Would it still be 1 teaspoon of the ground thyme as it was for the leaves? Or would the measurement change and if so, to what? Thank you so much!

Ground thyme would work. Use half or three quarters the recommended amount, then taste to see if it's right. If it needs more, use it. Usually thyme is not an upfront flavor. Typically it's used in concert with other ingredients to create an overall flavor, so don't necessarily expect to taste thyme. Taste before and after and see what you think.
