You could use chicken broth in with the water while you're boiling it. Some chopped garlic or even garlic salt sprinkled in with some olive oil is really good. Really, your imagination is the only limit. I would keep a small notebook so when you stumble across something you thing is really yummy, you can jot it down before you forget. Good luck, have fun and God bless!!

put saffron in the water

I like to add crushed red pepper, and garlic salt, it gives a nice kick

It all depends on how much you feel like spending and/or can find to use.
I like to use sea salt in my water. Then, after my pasta is cooked I saute a clove of minced garlic in olive oil and alittle bit of melted butter. Then I add minced parsley and basil. When everything is hot enough I toss in Parmesan cheese and serve

I make fettucini with alfredo sauce and add in broccoli diced up. It is very good.

The sky is the limit. I've boiled pasta in red wine. Then served with olive oil, garlic, parmesan, kalamata olives, and sun dried tomatoes. You could do apple juice and a bit of cinnamon. Good side with pork.

You can save the water from boiling other veggies such as carrots etc... Or try adding some v-8 to the water or boil it in a 50/50 mix of water and chicken or beef broth. I wouldn't do it all in the broth becasue you dump the water, but use all chicken broth when you cook rice.
