Can I substitute "Minute" rice in recipes that don't specifically call for it?!

Question: I would like to make spanish rice and I don't want to ruin the dish by using the wrong rice. Any help would be appreciated!

You could, but it may cook too fast and get lumpy and starchy.

If you do, cook the rice first, let cool, then proceed from there.

Use brown rice too. Much healthier.

I wouldn't risk it..just follow the recipe, and you should have a wonderful meal

sure, just don't over cook it

if you use minute rice, you'll have a better chance of ruining your dish. Use plain white rice ( brown rice for a healthier spin) it'll come out better.

considering Minute Rice only takes about 5 min to cook, and white or brown regular rice takes 30-40 min to cook, you stand a good chance of getting a giant rice clump in the bottom of your recipe if you use Minute Rice. It will overcook and get mushy and stick together
