If I add food coloring to the pasta water, will it color the pasta?!

Question: My daughters want a green dinner, and I wondered if that would work.

Answers: My daughters want a green dinner, and I wondered if that would work.

Yes! I make a dish with Top Ramen, color it green, drain the water and make octopus out of hot dogs; my kids LOVE it!!

Yes...but add lots of food coloring to acheive the desired color! Have fun and good luck!

It will but you need to use several big drops of green coloring.

Add it to the pasta after it is done cooking. Just a few drops will do.

it will pick up some color yes. My Dad useed to color our mashed potatos green on St Pattys Day!!!

I've never tried it, but with a lot of food coloring it just might work....Happy St. Pat's day....have fun!!

,,***Not really, you have to use way to much to get a good color , I suggest coloring the sauce or tossed with dye after the pastas cooked and drained

yes, it will but you will have to but a lot to turn all of the pasta you are boiling green. it also depends if you want it a light green pasta or dark.

yes it will work but it might look gross

What kind of sauce are you putting on the pasta. Use a pesto sauce if your kids will go for it. Or add a drop or 2 of green food coloring after it's done boiling with a dallop of butter to help distribute the color. And keep planty of napkins handy cuz it may stain your lip and mouth, also don't wear good clothes to dinner tonight!!!

Good luck and enjoy.

It will color them, but add it after you've cooked the pasta and drained it, or else it probably won't work or will just barely show up. Good luck, you and your kids take care! =)

Don't do it - i can't imagine what a mess to clean up that will be!

Give them cabbage - green and traditional.
