Marinading chicken?!
Answers: I'm marinading my chicken in Italian dressing tonight. I have never done this before so I'm curious... is it necessary to use an entire bottle of dressing? Put the chicken in a bowl with the dressing, or use a plastic bag? Also, when I bake it, I heard it's good to wrap it in foil, is this true? I never heard of that before. Should I just cover it with the foil instead? Please help, I'm not a cook and I'm trying to make dinner for my girlfriend tonight!
Just use enough to cover the chicken, and you can use a bag or a bowl. Turn it occasionally.
I haven't foil wrapped chicken for baking either, but I usually use the grill if I've marinated in Italian.
Have a good night!
The whole bottle is fine - the extra dressing wont' hurt it...I use a plastic bag = easy clean up - but a bowl or other covered container is fine...I like to grill, but if baking is your preferred method than a shallow roasting pan/glass pan and covered in foil will work just fine. Just make sure you don't over cook the chicken - keep an eye on the time...Good luck! It sounds like you are on your way to a nice dinner this evening.
Use enough dressing to cover the chicken. I also poke lots of holes in the chicken to help it absorb and tenderize. Bowl or bag is fine just be sure you cover it with saran wrap if it's in a bowl. Covering your chicken with foil makes it a lot juicier. You can either wrap the whole thing, or just cover the pan it's cooking in. Good luck!
Put it in a plastic bag, and there is one less dish to clean. put just enough dressing on the chicken, to coat it. Be sure you add extra spices, as the dressing, is usually not spiced right.wrap it in the foil, and bake at 350, for about 15 minutes, ounce after 15, and cook uncovered for 5-8 more minutes.
I find when I bake chicken covered with foil it stays moist and juicy. When it's almost done I remove the foil and let it brown a little.
