What to do with the broth left-over from my corned beef & cabbage?!

Question: I made the recipe fromt eh foodnetwork kitchens, but instead of water I used beef broth. Can I perhaps freeze it and use it for something else later? Any ideas? I was thinking maybe a beef barley soup perhaps.
What do you think?

A beef barley soup would be a great way to reuse the broth.....I'd strain it first (if you used that seasoning packet) just to get a clearer broth to work with....Chill it overnight and the fat will congeal at the top, pick that off and proceed with your recipe, or pour it into a zip top bag and freeze till needed.....BTW, season carefully, as the braising process pulled a LOT of salt out of the corned beef during the cooking process.....Enjoy!!! Two meals out of one!!

sure, but be sure you get all the congealed fat off the top before you use it. It should rise to the top as it cools.... corned beef has alot of fat in it:) also, it may have a bit more salt than other broth, due to the corned beef, so take that into account when you make soup later

Don't do anything with it - it's disgusting - dump it down the drain!

YES, do it. It will be delish.

You could make some rice.Like the boxed ones you buy, just put a bit of oliveoil,in your pan,let it get hot,med heat, then stir your rice in,brown it,then add your broth in,bring to a boil, lower to simmer for20min
Enjoy your rice ;)

Let it cool, and skim off any fat and use as stock for stews, casseroles or soups.
Freeze as ice cubes and keep in a freezer bag, so you will always have some at hand.

go to you local dollar store and buy a ice tray(s), pour the left over broth in the tray(s) and freeze it, when it is frozen take it out from the tray(s) and put the cubes in a ziploc bag and freeze it again.

Strain it.
Chill it and skim off the fat.
You can freeze it for later.

Yes, it would make a fine base for soup.
Or, use it for simmering fresh green beans, carrots, kale or brussels sprouts.

Make Rueben sandwiches ;)

you could freeze it and make soups with it. A vegetable soup would be good. Make another corned beef and cabbage dinner later and use the frozen broth. I like it even when it isn't St. Patrick's day.
