CHEESE AND BACON STUFFED MUSHROOMS
20 long fresh mushrooms
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, soft
2 tbsp. sour cream
4 slices bacon, crumbled
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 tsp. dill seed
Clean mushrooms, remove stems. Combine cheese and sour cream, add bacon, garlic, onion and dill seed. Blend well. Spoon into mushroom caps. Sprinkle with additional dill. Place caps in a lightly greased casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 13 minutes.
The mushrooms you are talking about are called Portabellos and eat like a meal them selves. Not good for stuffing.
Large button mushrooms are best for stuffing
core them, brush them with olive oil
add bacon pieces mixed in with blue cheese and broil just until cheese melts. Delicious!
