Should my crockpot boil?!

Question: My corned beef has been on high for 5 and a half hours and I put the veggies in about an hour ago.... Will it boil or should I keep waiting for the veggies to be tender?

My crock pot never boils. The closest it comes to it is seeing little tiny bubbles collecting at the top but never a full boil. Just wait for the veggies to become tender and check back regularly.

Just wait for them to be tender. It won't really boil.

Keep waiting for them to be tender, but it should be kind of simmering if it's on high.

I just started crock-potting. Mine usually starts to boil after a few hours. Hope that helps

yeah wait for them to be tender. unless you want them crispier.

I doubt it will ever boil. just wait for veggies to get tender.

When my crock pot is on high it bubbles. After five and a half hours I would think that it would be at least bubbling up some.

Do not uncover to check the vegis for at least a couple of hours. Every time you uncover a crockpot, it takes 30+ minutes to heat back up to the correct heat. You might have a little boiling around the edges.

It will not boil but I never put water in the pot so the food makes it own liquids.

Next time try high for an hour and low for the rest of the time.

I have used one for years, mine simmers but never comes to a rolling boil. You veggies should be done in about 60 to 90 minutes. I hope your corned beef dinner was great. Annmarie
