I love fresh fruit! But I also love Cake!

If you're watching your waist line and your sugar intake, this one is satisfying:

Low Sugar Strawberry Shortcake!

Most bakeries now have a no-sugar added or a sugar free angelfood cake. I like these better than pound cake, and they have fewer grams of fat and calories.

1 low sugar/sugar free angelfood cake
1 bag frozen strawberries
1 tub sugar free or lite Cool Whip

Thaw the strawberries in a bowl and drain juice into separate bowl.

Brush angelfood cake with strawberry juice.

Pile strawberries in and around the cake and top with cool whip.

strawberrry shortcake...you can use a low-fat or lite pound cake, top with fresh sliced strawberries (if you like that 'sauce' that comes with the frozen ones, drizzle the berries with a little splenda and let sit for about an hour on your counter, an they'll make a little sauce for you)
then top with coolwhip, or a little whipped cream....
