What are some foods suitable for canning?!

Question: That depends on the process you are going to use, water bath or pressure canning. Will you be pickling anything? Pickles eggs, pickled meat, very tasty!

As you see, everything form fruit and nuts to meats and seafood!

Tomatoes, pickles, beets, applesauce - to name just a few.
Peaches, pears, apricots.
Jams, jellies and relishes.
Man, this is making me wish it were summer.

green beans, brussel sprouts, corn, peaches, plums, pears

Tomatoes, peppers, jellies, fruits, salsas, cucumbers, other veggies. There's so many of them!

All fruits, all vegetables, all legumes.

Probably all fruits and vegetables can be canned and it's a personal preference on whether I can it or freeze it. For example, I prefer canned peaches over frozen, but frozen corn over canned.

This list is those i can think of right now that I prefer to can:
Pickles
Beets
Tomatoes
Peaches
Applesauce
Beans - that's a toss-up on preference
Jams and jellies
Pears

You can preserve almost anything by canning, meats vegetables and fruits. Our family has been doing it for years and has passed down recipes and methods as well. A good source for information is your county extension agency or the USDA.
