Cooking rice is like playing tennis. Until you get your eye in use a bigger racket. Big pot + 1 - 2 cupfuls of long grain rice (start with long grain cos it's the more robust). Use too much water (at least four times as much as your rice) coming up to the boil (never boiling), a pinch of salt and I add a knob of butter (use oil if you prefer) and gently stir to mix and NO MORE. Cover the pot and allow to simmer, not boil for 12-18 minutes (you can uncover to test the rice for firmness, tasting works best) and as it comes close to your satisfaction drain (keeping some of the cooking liceur) and, still in the colander reaplace onto the pot( with cooking liceur and a liitle more water) Cover the rice with tin foil and allow to steam for 5 minutes or so. Fluff with a fork and bingo! Rice pudding....

Dag nabbit!!

The easiest and fool proof way is to go instant rice.

Just follow the directions.

:-)

Well what kind of rice? Boil your rice... follow directions...(most of the time you need more water then it says...) The easiest way to make rice is a (rice steamer) : ) I hate boiling my rice...

Boil a kettle of hot water.

Put as much rice as you need in a microwavable dish (I use a glass one so I can see through it

Cover the rice with the boiling water, (make sure there is about an inch more water than rice)

Microwave on med-full power for approx 12-15 mins. (This depends on the amount of rice)

Boil another kettle and use this water to rinse the rice and de-starch it.

Microwaving rice is a doddle - plus for the first 10 mins you don't even have to check on it or worry! Hope that helps :-)

Boiling water, salt, and olive oil.
Put rice in
Simmer for ten minutes or so
Check by chewing a grain or two, a slight bit of 'crunch' is al-dente or nearly there.
When no crunch exists, rice is ready. serve snd enjoy
Don't overcook rice else it goes sticky and soggy

If you are using long grain rice, you use a 1:2 ratio of rice to water. Regular rice is cooked in about fifteen minutes. Once the rice and water come to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer without taking the lid off.
Another option is to get a rice cooker. It cooks the rice perfectly every time. There are many makes at a wide range of prices.
Check out the website below for rice cooking types for different varieties of rice. Also check out Amazon.com for rice cookers.

Hi dear,

this is the way how do you need to do if need to cook perfect rice,
if you cook using your rice cooker, put water 3/4 inch higher than the rice level and cook it. It is automatically goes to warm level when water is finish, check whether you can chop the rice by your hand, if not put some more water and cook again, normally it will enough water if use 3/4 inch higher from rice level, make it in warm level another 15 or 20 minits, before severing.

This is the best rice ever. I make it all the time and it always comes out perfect.

1. In a small pot, saute some onions in butter until translucent.
2. Add one cup of white rice to onion mixture and toast for a couple of minutes.
3. Add 2 cups of chicken broth to pot and bring to a boil.
4. Cover pot, set heat to low and let simmer 16 minutes. *It is very important not to lift the lid during this time frame.
5. Voi La...perfectly cooked and delicious rice!

Try Uncle Bens Rice Perfection...it is better than instant rice but you cook it the same way as you would cook pasta and it is done in 10 minutes. Just drain the water and it is perfectly done.

start with a high quality rice.....Basmati is a bit higher priced than most rices ...but,if you enjoy rice it is well worth it....
