Either apple cider or a citrus juice like pineapple or orange juice or even apricot. That helps take out the saltiness of the ham. Add a little brown sugar for a little sweetness. Put in 6-12 cloves (inserted in ham) for a good taste. (Use about 1/2 to 1 cup of juice or even a few slices of the fruit with a little juice in a slow cooker.)

Apple cider would work really good, kind of a brine. I would use the low setting to keep the meat moist.

I've never heard of the apple cider but I bet it would be good.

I cook ham in my crockpot all the time though, it's the only way I do it. I coat the ham in a mixture of brown sugar and mustard and add a little water to the bottom then cook on low for about 6-8 hours. Always turns out great. I can't wait until Easter :-)

Get a box of those turkey baking bags and cook it in there in the oven. You cannot screw it up with those bags.

Apple cider, ham, beer are all good when cooking ham. In the Philippines, the favorite is sliced or cubed pineapple , whether canned or fresh.

Yes, pineapple. As the ham cooks, the pineapple gives off its sweet-sour juices, which the ham absorbs,

Mix together brown sugar and coarse brown or dijon mustard and coat the ham. Pour a can of beer in the bottom. Cook on low for about 6-8 hours. The alcohol will cook off, so no worries about serving it to kids. It is delicious!
