You can use mustard, mayonnnaise, tomatoes for your burger, onions, jalepeno peppers for your hot dog, and cheese. There are endless possiblities. It depends on your personal taste.
OH many things. Chicago style I think is a dill pickle slice, grated cheese. I've heard of chili on hot dogs, mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes.
Salsa
Real hot dog enthusiasts will criticize you for using ketchup. You won't find any ketchup at Cony Island. Mustard is a must. You can also use relish, peppers, mayo, BBQ sauce, other tangy sauces (A1, Heinz57, etc). You can make Mexican burgers by adding salsa, peppers, guacamole, pepper jack cheese. Use your imagination.
Here in the South we make Slaw Dogs. The slaw is cabbage, sugar, mustard, vinegar, onions, and your imagination.....it is simmered; then kept sealed in a jar in the fridge. OH YUM!!
Mustard,mayo,relish,horse radish.
mustard, relish, tomatoes, cheese, pickles...
Loads a mustard - try a different sort to your usual.
Relishes or salsas are good.
Brown sauce ...... your list is endless. But my time on comp. is not. Sorry, gotta dash.
Besides the obvious mustard, relish, pickles, onions, try salsa or BBQ sauce. How about some fried onions or sauteed mushrooms. Of course, chili. Horseradish. Try shredded chesee, or crumble some blue cheese on there.
I'm traditional, I like mustard, ketchup and onions.
onions, relish, mustard, chili sauce, cheese!!
mushroom and swiss with A-1 sauce. mmmm.
turkey po-boys, with lettuce and mayo.
saute some onion, garlic, and slice green pepper in butter. put on peper towel to soak up extra butter, put on burger..mmmm
For the burgers, sometime try some sauteed mushrooms and onions. Fry the burger as you like it ( I like medium well ) coat the burger with some cajun blackened seasoning. Top with the mushrooms, onion and a slice of swiss and instead of ketchup or mustard, try some sour cream. I know sounds crazy, but its awesome. We call these "Joey Burgers"
For the hotdogs, google Chicago Hot Dogs, they are really good
Ketchup on hot dogs? Horrors! LOL
On my hot dogs, I put onions and mustard.
On my hamburgers, I put mayonnaise, onions and lettuce.
I like to put olives alongside the wiener for hotdogs and I like dill pickles slices on a hamburger, also bacon and cheese.
