Recipe for chocolate afghans?!


Question: this is going back 3-4 years ago i remember eating them when touring new zealand and a local gave me the recipe and am now craving for some but you think I can find the bloody thing lol..i know u need cocoa and cornflakes but thats about it lol.....HOPE SOMEONE COULD HELP!!! THANKS A BUNCH!! :-)

Afghan Biscuits

BISCUITS
200 g butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups plain flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup corn flakes, slightly crushed
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
ICING
1 cup icing sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
3 tablespoons water
walnuts(to decorate)

Directions
BISCUITS-----------.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, sift together flour and cocoa and mix into butter mix, then fold in corn flakes and coconut.
Put teaspoonful balls onto lightly greased or baking paper covered trays.
Bakes at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
Makes about 30 biscuits.
ICING------------.
Sift icing sugar and cocoa together, add enough water to get a spreading consistency, ice biscuits, decorate with walnuts.

Method

Preheat oven to 180 C
Beat butter & sugar until light & fluffy. Sift flour & cocoa. Stir into creamed mixture. Fold in cornflakes. Spoon mounds of mixture onto a greased oven tray, gently pressing each mound together. Bake for 15 mins or until set. Ice with chocolate icing when cold, decorate with walnut if desired. Makes 30.

1/4 cup cocoa

2 cups cornflakes

AFGHANS (CHOCOLATE ICED COOKIES)

7 oz. butter
3 oz. sugar
6 oz. flour
1 oz. cocoa
2 oz. cereal flakes

ICING:

2 tbsp. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
Water

Soften butter, add sugar and beat to a cream. Add flour, cocoa and lastly cereal flakes. Put spoonfuls on a greased tray and bake about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Mix together butter, sugar, cocoa for icing. Add enough water to make thick paste. When cookies are cold, ice with chocolate icing and put coconut or walnuts on top.
