You can do it without the tooth picks. Just roll it all the way around.
crescent rolls work well. but better with mini-dogs
our family love pigs in blankets.we dont use toothpicks.are you supposed to.we just wrap the bacon around the sausage and put them in the oven and eat them with our fingers.the bacon stays wrapped round them
Use canned crescent rolls and unwrap the dough then wrap it around the hot dog with the sealed side down on the baking sheet.
Cresent rolls always works and you dont need tooth picks :) YUMMY
moisten the edges of the dough and lay seam side down.
slice them and drop in pan with pork and beans.
slice lengthwise and drop in pan with tortellini or other pasta.
slice them cross ways and scramble them with eggs.
Why would you need toothpicks to begin with?
All they are are little( or big) hot dogs wrapped with puff pastry and baked.
You can pick them up with your hands.
No prob!
Send some over to me when their done.
I like mustard on the side.
You do not need toothpicks for pigs in blanket.
I always liked them cut in slices or even chunks sauteed up with potato slices & a little onion until their browned up.
What about rolled up in a tortilla shell, either corn or flour?
get long kebab skewers push them up the middle, (lenghtways) make up a, egg, milk and corn flour mix, as in maze flour, not the white stuff you thicken things with, roll the hot dogs in ordinary flour and dip in the mix then deep fry, TADA!! corn dogs, get stuck in, or alternatively, chop em up and chuck em in with some cheese and beans in a pan, heat and eat, lol
you do not need tooth picks! just rap um really good! with the same biscuit dow!
I use a can of crescent rolls from Pilsbury or the generic kind, and I use the whole dog. You will not need any toothpicks for this....just make sure you have mustard!
Every New Years Eve when I was growing up we made pigs in a blanket. We didn't use toothpicks. We cut the hot dog open, put cheese inside, and wrap the hot dog with bacon. We then take a can biscuit... any kind will do. Flatten the biscuit as much as you can without tearing. Then wrap around the hot dog. Set it down on a buttered cookie sheet and bake until the biscuit is done. Just make sure that the end of the biscuit is tucked underneath. Try that out... hope it works for you....
If you have any dough(pizza, bread, ect.), you can rap the dough around the hot dog and then deep fry it. My family sometimes puts slices of cheese between the hot dog and dough.
