Shortening Substitute?!


Question: I don't have shortening, what can I use? Its for a donut recipe, if that helps

Alternative (Substitute) for Shortening:

you can substitute the shortening in the baking with
1. butter
2. margarine
3. a combination of butter and lard
4. or even vegetable suet.

    lard or butter. however, if you would like it to be lowerfat. try using a mixture of oil and plainyogurt.

    I don't have an answer, but this is kinda what I've been wondering too. I'm gonna watch this one.
