Does anyone have some good recipes for salmon?!
Answers: I have never cooked or eaten it before, and plan to have it tomorrow night for dinner. I would prefer to cook it in a pan or in the oven....what flavours go well with it??
Since salmon has some bolder flavors, it stands up well to stronger seasonings. In fact, it often needs to be balanced by other flavors.
I served this on Salmon at a big party. Along with this, I prepared several other salmon dishes... This one was by far the most popular. I did it on the grill, but will do well in the oven too.
4 cloves garlic
1 T white wine
1 T honey
1/3 C Balsamic Vinegar
4 T Dijon or whole grain mustard
3 T maple syrup
salt and pepper to taste
In a sauce pan coated with non stick spray, or Olive oil, sweat garlic until soft, add other ingredients, and reduce over medium heat until sauce coats the back of a spoon.
Baste salmon, chicken, etc with sauce while cooking either on a grill, or in the oven.
Don't overcook the fish. It should be just to the point of starting to flake.
If you are cooking salmon fillet with skin on, put it skin down in your oven, and baste it with this sauce. Cook uncovered in an oven at 350F (160C) do not over cook
Have fun baby! Save some for me ;-)
if you buy it try to get it smoked!!! IT IS DELICIOUS!!!
serve it on a plate with some cream cheese
it sounds like an appy but its very filling

Make a marinade for Bourbon Salmon
Mix Brown Sugar with Soy Sauce and Bourbon if you have it, if you don't no worry you will get the same taste, almost.
Marinate this for about an hour or two and grill it, bake it or pan sear it.
Sweet and delightful.
foodnetwork.com but salmon is always good with Dill weed the seasoning and mayo.
grilling it is the best.......but if you wanna pan or oven cook it, choose the oven instead.......cover it tho, so it doesn.t overdry........just plain or ur favorite herbs sprinkled on top......
What is the salmon?
Salmon is the best and one of fav sources of protein. You can season with salt and pepper and grill it on a cedar plank. Great Flavor
Another fav for me is Terrayaki Salmon - about tablespoon of brown sugar, just a couple of dashes of soy sauce (don't want to make it too salty) some minced garlic and if you have a couple slices of fresh ginger or a couple dashes of the dried kind. Seal this in a plastic ziploc bag in fride for a cople of hours. 30 minutes before cooking squeeze fresh lemon over salmon. Cooks best in Cast Iron grill or you can broil in over. MMMMM Good. It's my 7 year favorite as well. Dinner parties. Just don't over cooks. I'd say about 10 - 18 minutes depending on the cut. The marinating cuts the cooking time.
Good Luck
Japanese Salmon Over Linguine Recipe courtesy Nancy Lubman
Show: Calling All Cooks
Episode: Japanese Salmon/Pirate Booty Ribs
1/2 cup olive oil
4 salmon fillets, skin on
2 to 3 cloves garlic, grated with a Japanese ginger grater
2-inch piece of shoga (ginger), grated
2 naganegi, or 1 bunch scallions
1/4 cup shoyu (soy sauce), more or less
1/4 cup sake
1/8 cup mirin
Pepper
1 pound linguini, cooked
Dashi (fish broth) or chicken broth
Put oil in a pan. Put the salmon filets in and flip to coat. Rub with garlic and ginger. Mix together remaining ingredients, except broth, in a separate bowl. Pour half of the mixture over the salmon. Cook over medium heat, covered, for 5 minutes. Turn salmon and add the rest of the mixture. If it needs more liquid, add broth 1/4 cup at a time. When salmon is opaque all the way through, remove from heat. Remove salmon from skin. Pour liquid over linguini then place chunks of salmon on top. Garnish with slivered pickled ginger.

I love to marinate in garlic italian dressing, then grill over medium coals til flakey. You can also place salmon skin side down on a sheet of foil & bake @ 325 or so til fish starts to turn opaque & flakes. Yummy!
I don't know what area you live in so I am not sure how available these ingredients might be for you, but this is so delicious with steamed rice.
Furikake Salmon
4 servings
40 minutes 10 mins prep
1 sm sweet onions, sliced
4 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 c mayonnaise
1/4-1/2 t wasabi, optional
4 salmon steaks or fillets
1/2 oz nori, goma furikake (seasoned seaweed and sesame mix)
Spray a baking pan with pam or oil lightly, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the onions, mushrooms, mayonaise and wasabi together.
Place the salmon in the baking dish and spread the mayonaise mixture evenly over the salmon.
Sprinkle the salmon with the Furikake, more or less to your liking.
Bake for 30 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
we usually just cover a salmon filet in light salt and olive oil. Then spread Pesto over the top and broil it about 5 minutes on a side
Smoked Salmon is my favorite.
Heat some butter in the microwave until ALMOST melted all the way. If you melt it to boiling, let it cool a bit first.
Then add garlic and dill, stirring it to form a thick sauce.
Spray a cookie cooling rack with pam or oil, put it on foil on a cookie sheet. It you don't have this or a broiler pan, you can put it directly on the cookie sheet. But elevating the fish a bit helps it cook underneath. Put the filet on it. Top with the butter sauce.
Bake at 400 degrees F until it is flaky but still moist.
I cook this dish all the time it is sooooooooooo delicious and it is heaps healthy.

2x salmon fillets, skin removed
2 tsp Moroccan seasoning
cooking oil
baby spinach leaves, to serve
1- Place corn, avocado, tomato, onion, coriander leaves in a bowl and add lemon juice, toss to coat.
2- Sprinkle Moroccan seasoning over Salmon. Heat a pan to medium, spray with cooking oil. Add salmon to pan, cook for 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked to your liking, being careful not to burn as the seasoning colours quickly.
