Cake Storage Containers?!
Can anyone point me to a decent, portable cake storage container? I'm looking for tried and true suggestions only.
Answers: I had a plastic Tupperware brand container that kept cakes moist, but it also would melt the cake and frosting. I tossed it and am trying to find one that will keep my cake moist, but will not melt it.

At Bed Bath & Body the only brand they sell is Wilton. I use it for transporting cakes. I've also stored cakes in it that have stayed in the frig. For cakes that can be left out, I put in my pedestal cake stand- it has a heavy glass top and it keeps the cake moist. I just have to be sure that the cake is completely cooled before I put the top on.
I use those storage containers for transport only. If I am bring a cake to my brothers house for Christmas for example. Cakes do not store well (at least the ones i make). I have saved a few of those plastic things that you put on a pizza to keep the cover from sticking to the cheese and I use them on cakes to keep plastic off the icing. I then cover with plastic wrap and leave the cakes out of the refrigerator.
As I indicated above, I have a few rubbermaid cake containers that I use for transport.
I could describe all kinds of containers....but, I'd rather have you go to....HSN.com, and ...QVC.com.....look through their cooking/baking/storage containers, and most certainly you will find what you're looking for. Then call them toll free, ask.
Over the years, everything I've bought from them is as good, or better, than they advertised it as.
Tried applesauce, or sour cream, or mayonnaise to make your cakes more moist and stay moist longer?
QVC sells Lock-n-Lock. They have a cake storage container with a handle. Go to QVC.com and check it out.
