1/2 large cake yeast?!

Question: I'm making Paska (a Slovak bread) for the first time. I've never used yeast before. The recipe calls for 1/2 large cake yeast. I bought Red tar Fresh Yeast, and it is 2 oz, so am I to assume I'd use half of this package? There are no exact measurements in the recipe.

To use 1 oz. of fresh yeast should be about right. Is there about 6 cups of flour in your recipe? If I knew how much of the other ingredients I could help more.
I buy it buy the pound.Fresh yeast sure is the best to use,so much more flavor in your breads.

Edit:Ok I did a search also so I could find out more about the
your bread. Thanks for adding the recipe.I see it's a very rich bread and looks good.
I would go with the 1/2 cake because of all the eggs in the recipe. They will also make the bread rise.
If it didn't have all the eggs and 12 cups of flour then I would suggest the whole cake.
I think you are good to go....be sure to test your water temperature not to hot.....110 degrees.

Edit:You know....you would be safe using 3/4 of the cake.
Why don't you do that.....

Yes, you would use 1/2 cake of Red Star (1 ounce). I still have a booklet from Red Star with lots of recipes that my mother used all the time when I was growing up.
