What replaces a skillet?!


Question: I'm baking a baked apple pancake, and the recipe calls for a 10 inch oven proof skillet, but i don't have one, what can i use to replace this?

Use a glass pie pan or baking dish with low sides..

a cake tin maybe, just don't put it on the stove.

a cast iron skillet, or if the recipe calls for stove-top browning and then finishing in the oven you could turn the pancake out on to a baking sheet before you put it in the oven. if you have a skillet, but don't think it is oven-proof because of coated handles, you should know that you can get away with wrapping the handles in a few layers of foil before it goes in the oven.

You can use a round cake pan.
