you can do two things. you can use the cereal with the dried strawberries and that would taste fine.
or you can make it as normal. the spread the preserves on top.. then drizzle with any kind of white or cream cheese icing. put some of the icing in zip lock bag.. microwave for less than ten seconds cut a little hole and drizzle this over the redness of the preserves and not only will this taste good, but it looks great.
you won't be disappointed.
Well...make tiny samples for each one and see which one you like the most.
I would use dried or dehydrated srawberries.....
Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter
4 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup strawberry jam
6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal or equal
Directions
Butter a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
1. In a large pan on the stovetop, melt the butter over low heat. Add the
marshmallows. Stir until the mixture is melted and smooth. Add the jam and
stir.
2. Add the rice cereal. Stir until the cereal is uniformly combined with the
marshmallow mixture.
3. Remove the mixture to the buttered pan. Evenly distribute the mixture and
press it down into the pan with buttered fingers, a piece of waxed paper, or a
spatula. Let cool and cut into squares.
do all three in case one of them isn't so great and you've blown the whole batch on one kind.
I have not tried this but I think you could mix in a package of strawberry jello. I have used jello to flavor other things like apple sauce and also like it sprinkled on bananas.
I'd chop up some dried strawberries and throw them in. I've never done this with rice krispie treats, but it's worked well for me with other cookie and brownie recipes.
Rice Krispies has just come out with a new type -- it has strawberries in it. You can use this to make your krispie treats.
ooooh I'd go for the cereal with stberries in it, but still flavor it with nesquick........yum
Just get the berry-flavored rice krispies and follow the regular recipe. I've tried it before - it's really good!
