Please, can i get a recipe for gravy, probably one that includes the use of cream and vegetables.?!

Question: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add 2 tablespoons of flour. Stir in about a cup of milk or cream, depending on how thick you like the gravy. A chicken bouillon cube may be added to give it flavor. Add your vegetables.

Most people don't put veggies in their gravy, but I guess that's the joy of not being "most people"! I am from the south, and we make our gravy the unhealthy way of using the grease or stock from whatever meat we cooked, adding flour, salt, & pepper, then once that gets a tiny bit brown, adding milk, and a little more flour to thicken it. I'm sure you could substitute cream for milk, and if veggies in your gravy floats your gravy boat (sorry, I couldn't resist!), then go for it! I would cut them in very small peices though. I'll be watching to see other peoples ideas!

This one is really good!

Hmmm....are you sure you want your vegetables in your gravy? Everyone loves my gravy, but I only use the water that the vegetables are cooked in, not the actual vegetables - I would think they would go pretty mushy.
- put flour and water in a jar and shake it good (equal parts flour to meat juice) and just enough cold water so it's a thin paste.
- with meat juice on med. heat, slowly stir in the shaken flour and water
- when it starts to boil, keep stirring and slowly add some leftover water that you've cook your potatoes, carrots or other vegetables - keep it boiling gently and stir constantly (to avoid lumps) until desired thickness.
- remove from heat, add seasoning salt and lots of pepper

Voila!! - Delicious creamy gravy

oh yeah ..um.. now add vegetables? but believe me its rich enough without cream

Creamed Peas

1 pk (10-oz) frozen English peas;
-cooked and drained
2 tb Butter
1 tb Flour
1/4 ts Salt
1 ds Pepper
1 c Milk

Melt butter in saucepan on low. Blend in flour, salt and
pepper. Add milk and stir until thick and bubbly. Cook 1 minute more and
stir in peas.

I sometimes buy the frozen mixed veggies. this is so good over mash taters.
