start with a basic recipe and add things suited to your tastes and experiment a bit.

It's nothing short of a discovery process. I usually start with flour and butter and a bit of milk, since that's a basic dough for pies and such. Other than that, it's up to your imagination. As long as it sounds good, toss it together and give it a shot!

I have put some parts of one recipe together with parts of another because that's the combination I liked and it worked out. You can basically use proportions from other recipes to guide you.
