Can I purchase cooking wine if I'm under 21?!
Answers: A pasta recipe I'm making calls for Madeira wine, and I'm wondering if cooking wine counts as an alcoholic beverage. It's the essential ingredient in this pasta recipe, so I can't cut it out.
It depends on where you're from. drinking and purchasing laws vary state to state. but generally if its in the wine section of the local market, then no you cant. items like cooking sherry you can buy in most cases though. I have to say on a side note.. you must be the only person in the world under 21 who doesnt know someone to buy alcohol for them ;)
also for all those who posted above me, just because it has alcohol doesn't mean you cant purchase. look at cough syrup.
it will have the alcohol content on the bottle, if there is any ... since it's wine, of any kind, it WILL have an alcohol content...although it's a lower % in cooking wine ... so NO
they say when you are cooking with wine dont use anything that you wouldnt like the taste of if you drink it, those cooking wines dont have the best flavour get someone to buy you real wine for cooking
cooking wine is sold in the local grocery store you should be able to buy it
I think that anyone can buy "cooking" wine on the condiment isle at the grocery store. The real stuff is off limits to those under 21.
no u can not purchase wine if ur under 21 it is still consider alcohol just have someone over 21 buy it
Move to Australia and you can buy it if you are over 18, and move to France where you can buy it if you are a kid!
