Does anyone have a recipe for Sachertorte that doesn't call for apricot jam?!

Question: Or what could I use instead on the apricot jam in the middle?

The apricot is part of what makes it a Sachertorte. You can replace it with almost any jam but it won't be the same. Raspberry would go well with the other flavors.

As to an easy recipe for one? Does not exist. It is a very involved cake with many steps. To not do them would mean you are not making a Sachertorte ... sorry!

Here are a couple of good recipes you can print out if you want:

Good luck!

That IS Sachertorte, with apricot jam! ... But you could try peach ... You could try raspberry too, but then it wouldn't be Sachertorte:) ... or even a Bavarian creme

i would recommend the orange marmalade or even peach jam. this way it will at least be similar.

you can use any jam, but let it sit in a strainer for a good while so any excess liquid comes out.
nothing messier than runny, burnt jam.
