Wilton Buttercream Frosting

1 box powdered sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
~1/4 cup milk

Cream butter until smooth, add powdered sugar a little at a time until mixed. Add vanilla and milk - 2 tablespoons at a time until you've reached the desired consistency.

Enjoy!

Use icing sugar and than add a tiny bit of liquid. For orange icing add a little orange juice. For chocolate add cocoa and milk. For vanilla add vanilla essence and milk etc.

you mix icing sugar with butter and put a drop of food couloring in

First, if you do like beach_ch... says you'll have a runny icing. I make mine with vegetable shortening, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk. Sorry I don't measure anything....In a mixer bowl put in about 1 cup of shortening (crisco) 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp milk, 2 cups powdered sugar....begin mixing on very low speed, continue until it is a smooth consistancy, and spreadable. Add more powdered sugar and/or shortening and/or liquids until it tastes and feels right. You want it to spread nicely, but not be runny or crumbly.
