Do you make dinner or heat it up?!

Question: Do people still actually cook? or do they just by ready to eat meals that just need to be heated up? I'm just wondering because you see so many comercials on TV for products that are "just add water" or "heat and serve".

I cook a meal every night....I never cook packaged foods.

The commercials on television tend to reinforce bad eating habits....Especially in the states.....many other countries have set times to eat...and there is no snacking.....I personally cant think of a time when any of my kids would want/need to stick "easy mac" in the microwave....

I try to cook at least 3 meals from scratch a week. The meals are usually more inexpensive and of a better quality.

I LOVE to cook. I also have a young son. I do the whole once-a-month cooking. I cook HUGE amounts of food over a weekend and freeze meal sized portions. LOL So I guess I sort of do both.

But I know what I am eating will be healthy and nutritious and delicious and waaaaay cheaper than convieience foods

I work late so i have to heat it up from what i made hot form luinch.

I like to cook, try somethings new, so I cook at least five days a week when I'm busy I can just reheat the leftovers. The quality and taste is so much better and cheaper too.

No way, I love cooking. I mean, those products are created for people with busy lifestyles and they can come in handy sometimes especially for myself and family because we're very busy people.

However, I love cooking! Especially on Holidays. I love making my own stuffing (starting from scratch by ripping up pieces of bread), my own baked mac, and more! The heat and serve/just add water products are convenient when need be but when I have time, I still cook usually from scratch.

mostly make but when ive had a long day just heat or if we have leftovers then i guess thats considered heating so yea both but rite okay i answered so im gonna stop now.........................

REALLY!
CLOSE THAT SECTION OFF AT THE MARKET AND JUST WATCH THE LINE GROW AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD SOUP-KITCHEN .......................

I do my share of heat and eat and eat stuff, oat meal, cereal, the occasional Brat when I have no time to make lunch. But after college I started watching the food network(before that, I couldn't cook a burger), and now I cook quite a bit. I got a bread machine to handle the hard work and ther bread pretty much make itself, not to mention an awesome pizza dough, I still try other pizzas, but I always come back to my own, made to order. I make cookies with no high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oils. About once a month I make my own salsa or pico de gallo and no jar can compete with that(it lasts about 3 weeks in the fridge if you can stop yourself or your friends from eating it all in one night).

Stir frys are great, you get a basic technique, no recipe, just whatever you're in the mood for. Crock pot's rock, add the ingredients in the morning, and walk away, a home cooked meal ready by dinner time, perfectly tender and healthy.

I don't know if sandwiches would be considered cooking, but they can add alot of variety, hot and cold, have a signature sandwich or two with some ingredients you don't find in any other sandwich.

Everyone should have their own chile recipe. Soups take some experimentation, but having a few good solid soup recipes help get you through a cold busy weekend.

I could go on and on, but my point is cooking is addictive, you get your own style, your own techniques, you find yourself bragging about how much you like your knife set or fridge more than your car. Your friends will talk about their favorite thing you make. The food is far more satisfying, and so much more healthy aside from the temptation to eat more of it. You find that heat and eat food just doesn't cut it anymore. And you'll also find out, your grandma was right, the most important ingredient really is love.

I cook from scratch and try to have leftovers for next day, and one take out meal per week.

I cook everything, including desert. I can't stand reheated meals. We don't even have microwave (by choice) so everything is nice and fresh.

I heat it because it takes less time and you can have more time than boiling water and make stu or something beacause you might have to buy some ingrediants you don't have. If you reheat it you'll save time and money. I know I starated to sound like a commercial but yeah think about.

in college, so i don't cook as much...wish i did though! :(

i cook at least 3 meals a day. i eat about 4 to 6 times a day. i love to cook but i really love to eat! i only reheat if i have any left overs ;)

And then the invention came.......The Microwave......other than Carls Jr. its a man's best friend.....for the good and the bad meals.....

always make dinner unless i go out. dont like precooked food.

make dinner normally... i have heaten up alot of meals( no one s perfect) when im in a rush.
- making a roast right now! :) x
