Do it tonight, it's a job to cook and mash a lot of potatoes. You can warm them and keep them warm in a crock pot while you're at church.
before church, cut the spuds n boil 'em doesn'ttake too long.
Fresh mashed potatoes always taste better than day old mashed potatoes. Peel and cut the potatoes before you go to church and leave in the pot of water. When you get home from church drain the water and add fresh water and boil. That will save you the time of peeling and cutting them.
I always make mashed potatoes ahead. I don't like cooking when I have a houseful of people. Make them as you usually do or make them fancy - with sour cream, cream cheese, chives, butter, whatever. Put them in a baking dish and refrigerate. Bake them tomorrow and they will get a nice crust on top - yum.
Make them tonight.
Warm them in the microwave tomorrow.
I think you should wait til after church... mashed potatoes taste best when they're fresh!
Fresh is best but if your on a tight schedule I would prepare them tonight like peeling or washing and cutting up, then I would leave them in water overnight.
Happy Easter to You.
make them tommarrow after church. it wont take that long!.
NO !
prep everything today -cook & peel potatos and premeasure everything you put in it, so tommorow all you need to do is put a pot on the stove and just toss all in as usual and your done 10-min's TOP'S ......
I would peel and dice them tonight, (or leave skin on if you prefer) and place in container in water in the fridge overnight, the water stops them from going brown. Then place them on the stove when you get back from church tomorrow, it wont take long to boil and then mash them if they are allready prepared!
Though I have made them the day before then placed them in a dish with sliced tomato, cracked pepper and grated cheese on top and then baked the next day which was pretty good too , I mashed them with sour cream though so that it didnt dry out to much!
Have a great lunch and Happy Easter!
Make them tonight so you could warm them tomorrow because last preps before visitors come are more important then mashed potatoes
