My cookie recipe is too crumbly, what should I add?!
So what should I add? Milk, oil, another egg, a pudding snack pack? Lol. I've got one of those on hand. The mixture has to be moist enough to roll into balls and press down with a fork.
Answers: The recipe for soft and chewy chocolate peanut butter cookies called for a package of devils food cake, half a box of cream cheese, half a cup of peanut butter and one egg. After mixing it all together with a hand mixer, it's very crumbly, not the consistency of cookie batter. I used a triple fudge cake mix instead of devils food, but I doubt that's the problem.

Really you could add any of those things, but I would go for the milk. Add it a tablespoon at a time until it seems like the right consistency, but be careful not to over stir your batter. Toss it with a fork as you add the milk until it all sticks together. The egg will probably change the texture too much, and it's hard to regulate how much you're adding. Oil wouldn't be great, a pudding snack is creative....what the heck? I would maybe try the pudding snack (same basic consistency as applesauce, which many cooks use in place of oils and milks to give baked goods a little flavor and less fat)! You could come up with a whole new recipe! Peanut Butter Triple Chocolate Fudge Pudding Snak Pak cookies. Good Luck.

egg will soften it up
either milk or oil. just enough that they are still able to roll into a ball but a wet sticky mixture.
add warm water.
Add about 2 tbsp water first then, maybe one more if needed.
I have a similar recipe but mine adds 1/4 cup oil..
My recipe calls for 2 eggs and a tbsp. milk so add that to it and it should be alright.

OK. First things first. When you are baking a recipie that you are unfamiliar with you MUST ALWAYS BAKE A TEST COOKIE!! That way you can test how the dough will be before altering the entire batch.
Put one cookie on the sheet and bake it. See how it comes out. If it is to dry then add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk to the dough.
It maybe that the batter is suppose to be crumbly, but if not then you will be able to find out by the test cookie.
After every "change" to the batter, do anyother test cookie. but remember to not put the batter on a hot backing pan.... it must be a room temp or cold pan.
