I've had very similar steak dishes prepared at various Japanese restaurant, but never tried to make something similar at home. I very well might make my next Steak, Mushroom and Asparagus dinner this way later this week!

it's usually called habachi in the US. Yeah, i've had it multiple times... steak, chicken, salmon, shrimp....mmm.. dang it I want some now.
