They say farm raised salmon is not as good for you as wild caught. Come up to Alaska and I will show you some good salmon!!! YUMM!!! As far as eating it while pregnant, we all eat plenty of it up here. I just had a baby. Doctor said eating it is OK!!! She cautioned me on eating too much halibut (a bottom feeder) and tuna (mercury). BUT SALMON IS A GO!

There are 4 fish that aren't recommended for pregnant women, because of the mercury that might be in them, but I don't think salmon is one of them. (Spanish mackeral, shark, swordfish and something else). Raw fish, of any kind, is a no-no for pregnant women too .....I think cooked salmon is still fine, but double-check with your ob-gyn

I didn't know it wasn't good...I love it! There are some people who worry about the environment and salmon, but I don't remember why?

Ask your doctor if it is ok for you to eat fish of any type while you are pg. After you give birth go back to eating fish.

I thought I saw an article about it the other day on Yahoo, just this week, but the article above has more info.

Tuna and salmon are at the top of the food chain, which means they have a lot of metal in their fat. Basically they hold more pollution and you should avoid these fish.
