What is a perfect?!
special?

special?
I love the basic fried chicken, potato or pasta salad, brownies for dessert. Sliced up fruit is perfect, especially melons or berries, fresh veggies such as carrot, radishes, celery are always good especially if you bring along some Ranch for dipping.
Another route is bringing a variety of sliced deli meat such as chicken, turkey, roast beef and a nice variety of cheeses along with croissants, or you could bring different flavors of wraps and some cream cheese and make roll-ups.
I like romantic foods that are easy to eat & will stay fresh - dried salami or prosciutto, hard & soft cheeses, olives, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, a loaf of crusty Italian or French bread. Definitely some wine or sparkling water and some real glasses to drink them in - adding some fresh berries is nice too, if you prefer champagne. Oh - and a nice blanket to enjoy it on & some cloth napkins!
Cut a water mellon into a bowl and fill it with fresh fruit balls, like cantalope, honey dew, strawberries.. etc.
fresh fruit, wine, cheeses, homemade chicken salad croissants! Sharing it with a loved one on a warm day down by the river! love the sounds a river makes!
peanut butter sandwiches on chunky granary bread...& a bottle of wine of course!
Jerk chicken, fried fish with onions, hard dough bread or French rolls and coleslaw.
Don't forget the wine.
