Why isn't there a grape pie?!?!?!?!

Question: answer this question, make one and mail it to me!

P.S. you only have to answer it, but you can make it if you want, and you would still have to send it to me.

5 1/2 cups concord grapes, washed
1 cup sugar, depending on the sweetness of the grapes
1 tablespoon tapioca
butter
1 pastry dough, for a 9-inch pie
Directions
1Pop the skins off the grapes by pinching them at the end opposite the stem; set them aside.
2Put the pulp (without water) into a heavy pan, bring it to a boil, and let it boil 5 to 6 minutes; put it through a colander or food mill to remove the seeds.
3Pour the hot pulp over the skins and let the mixture sit for 5 hours (Irene says this colors the pulp and makes it pretty).
4Add the sugar and tapioca, then pour the mixture into the pie crust and dot with butter.
5Put on the top crust (Irene uses a"floating" top crust—a circle of dough slightly smaller than the top of the pie—because it is easier than crimping top and bottom together and it also makes a pretty purple ring around the edge).
6Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
7Lower the temperature to 350 degrees and cook 20 minutes more until the crust is browned and the juice begins to bubble up.

Because if you heat grapes they turn into raisins..so i guess there are raisin pies lol.

Now, I've heard of apple , pear, peach pies, blueberry and gooseberry pies, but never a grape pie. I've even heard of cracker pie. I suppose we could give it a try, using a blueberry or gooseberry recipe.

But there IS grape pie. My aunt always made Concord grape pie when we could get the fresh grapes in August. In fact, I made one for her kids last August since she's died about 10 years ago and we (my cousins and I) had been talking about it. And fresh made Concord grape juice and jelly are so much better than Welch's!

There's raisin pie ... and I've seen recipes for green grape pie

AHH but there is. just for the fun of it I looked it up. This one looks good, I am going to try this one!

NOTES:

* Fruit pie made from green seedless grapes -- This recipe came originally
from the _Los Angeles Times Magazine_. It's unusual: I'd never before
thought of using grapes in a pie before. But it's good!

Ah grapes are such an unappreciated fruit. I often think the same about gooseberries. The ugly stepsister of the grape.
