Hi there,

There are several things you can do, ask a clerk at the grocery store to help you find these items. Don't be shy, the clerks are there to help us:

Canned soups such as Campbells, read the instructions on the containers;
Canned stews;
Canned vegetables;
Canned tuna kits that come complete with every thing you need such as mayo and relish;
Boxed and round small containers of breakfast foods /lunches/dinners that you just pour hot water into;
Boxed mac & cheese;
No cook breakfast bars of all types...come in a box of several bars. We like Fiber One.
Drink lots and lots of water to stay healthy.

Do you have a fridg for keeping foods cold? If not, try to get an insulated camping box and put a bag of ice in it for storing hot dogs and hamburger patties. Eat them as soon as possible so they will not go bad. Canned baked beans and a canned vegetable will make a good meal. Don't open the ice bag and it will stay cold longer. Keep the box clean at all times inside and out. Buy fresh ice often.

You can buy sliced ham/beef/chicken/turkey in plastic containers for sandwiches. We like the Hillshire Farms and Oscar Meyer brands, but there are many other good brands on the market. You will find the containers in the lunch meat section. Needs to be kept cold. Canned baked beans and a canned vegetable will make a nice meal.

Pre-cooked meats such as pot roasts, ham, pork chops, chicken and more can be found in the fridge section at the grocery store. Ask a clerk to help you find these.
Canned potatoes or sweet potatoes, canned beans of any type, canned vegetable will make a good meal.

Try to eat fresh tomatoes, fruits and vegetables whenever possible.
Canned whole tomatoes are good for you too.
Baked beans do not have to be hot, they are good when cold too.

When you have the money, try to buy a microwave. We found a small one on sell for $59.00 one time.
You can cook lots of foods in a large electric skillet. Buy one with tall sides.
Always unplug!!!
Recipe booklets come with both. These can be bought at places such as WalMart.
You can find lots of recipes on the internet.

do a fry up all in the frying pan and beans or tom's in the pan

Omelettes, toasted sandwiches, etc

Good luck!

You really need to go to Walmart and purchase some inexpensive cookware for yourself. Seriously....it isn't practical to only cook out of two small pots the rest of your life.

Scrambled eggs or anything fried. One pot kinda limits you doesn't it. Hamburger helper stuff would work. So would spell check. Recipes!

sandwiches toast eggs some simple haystacks or burritos or something are really simple and are what we do when i go camping bet we have some harder stuff to make in the wild like french toast or turkey bacon (well i think that's pretty simple also) and simple oatmeal with cereal... u know something like that so clean up is easy when u leave

You could do chilli, beans with sausages, stews, curries, curried rice - I'm a great fan of one pot cookery. Experiment and see what works best for you!

Go and Google "Outdoor Recipes", "Camping Recipes", and "Backpacking Recipes". These types of recipes are adapted in cooking with small sets of cookware.

pasta with sauce is quick and a 2 pan style
