I dont think you pack in powdered sugar. You measure like flour. Stir the powdered sugar, scoop into measuring cup with a spoon, and level off with flat edge of knife. 1 1/2 cups is simply that. If you are asking whether or not you can substitute granulated with powdered sugar, I dont think so.

Powdered sugar is not like brown that often calls for packing it. Powdered should be just measured like white sugar, flour etc.

buy the frozen packet stuff and put it in the oven.;

simple, eh?

1 stick butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ? cups all purpose flour
? teaspoon baking powder
? teaspoon baking soda
? teaspoon salt
1 ? teaspoons instant coffee powder (optional)
1 ? cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1) Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

2) Cream the butter with the sugars using an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy (approximately 30 seconds)

3) Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract for another 30 seconds.

4) In a mixing bowl, sift together the dry ingredients
and beat into the butter mixture at low speed for about 15 seconds.

5) Stir in the espresso coffee powder and chocolate chips.

6) Using a 1 ounce scoop or a 2 tablespoon measure, drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into a 2 inch circle.

7) Bake for 17 (soft) to 20 (crunchy) minutes or until nicely browned around the edges.

Pay attention to the mix times. It's important not to over-mix and tear up the flour.

1 and 3/4 cups of powdered sugar is equal to a cup of regular white sugar, so u do the math
