Just peel and cut up the apples into a small dice. Put them in a pan over med-low heat with a lid on it. When the apples are softened, add a little sugar and cinnamon (to taste) and mash them with a potato masher. It doesn't take long because the steam cooks them pretty quickly...maybe 20 minutes.

Just keep an eye on them while they're softening, stirring them once in a while to keep them from burning to the bottom of the pan.

Here are two seemingly easy ones that do not require the use of a food processor:

Peel and chop apples,
Put in a sauce pan with an inch or two of water, and some ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon,
Simmer till the apples are soft,
Mash with potato masher.

Apple sauce.

Just cut up about 4-5 apples in a microwave-proof casserole dish. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top, and a little sugar. Cover and microwave about 5-6 min. Take it out, stir them up a little, and mash them down. They may need to cook for another 2-3 minutes. You're just mashing them with a fork or masher. They'll be chunky; not pureed. Leave the peels on for better texture and more vitamins. Do not add water; they don't need it....... You can also add some pears too, if you have any

Peel, core and cut 6 apples into a microwave safe bowl.
Add 1/4 cup water.
Cover with Saran Wrap leave a little breathing space.
Cook about 4-5 minutes on high level
Remove and let cool, while waiting you can add a little cinnamon and if necessary honey by the teaspoon. Stir and eat up. No processor or special tools, just a fork.

The microwave makes wonderful applesauce- quick and easy. Peel and chop 4 apples. Pl ace in a microwave safe bowl and add 1/4 cup water, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tbs sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon. cover tightly with saran wrap and cook for 7 minutes. let sit 3 minutes and mush with a fork. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

* 2 apples - peeled, cored, and shredded
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/4 cup water
* 3 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions:

1. Place shredded apples in a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Sprinkle with cinnamon, then add water and cook until the apple bits become soft and mushy.
2. Stir in brown sugar and mix well; if desired, top with ice cream and serve.

*The amount of ingredients you need depend on the amount of people you're feeding and also how hungry they are. This recipe feeds up to 2 people. So if you're feeding more, say 4, then just double everything.*

Gosh! I make this often! Buy the brand of apples you prefer, usually 8-10 are enough for a small pan. Be sure they are juicy apples. Core them , cut them into about 6-8 pieces each. Put them in a good pan that has even heat, add about 1/2 cup water, and 1/2 cup sugar spread over them, and a 1/2 tsp cinnamon if you like.

Put a lid on the pan...cook low for about 1/2 hour. Don't keep opening the lid and letting the steam that cooks them, out. Just stir about every 10 minutes. You will find they are getting very soft, soon. If you like chunky apple sauce, just mash them up by hand, or use a potato masher, easier... or use a mixer, for smoother sauce.

Add sugar to your preference, and cinnamon as well. I personally think brown sugar takes over the flavor of the apples. I would not use it, myself.. You will LOVE your homemade applesauce, and the kids will want to make it again!!! Happy memory for them... What time are we eating? : )
