What is the easiest way to remove hazelnut skins ?!
Answers: A recipe I am cooking next week has asked for skinned hazlenuts, but I could not find any allready peeled. So I am wondering if there is an easy way to peel them or should I look harder for ready peeled ones.
Hazelnuts can be roasted using a conventional oven and a cookie sheet. The oven should be preheated to 275°F. Place shelled natural hazelnuts on a non-greased cookie sheet only one layer high. Place in warm oven for 20-30 minutes until the skins crack and the nutmeats turn a light golden color. You can also roast them at higher temperatures for a shorter period of time or microwave on full power for 3-4 minutes. The skins are quite tight on Oregon Hazelnuts; however, roasting will loosen a considerable amount of the skin. If you want more of the skin removed, pour the nuts onto a clean terry-cloth towel and wrap it closed. Let the nuts steam for 4 to 5 minutes then rub vigorously for 1 to 3 minutes. Rub longer to remove more skin.

Boil some water, put them in a cup with the water for 5mins or so and then when you rub them the skins should come off. You might have to boil the kettle twice.
I think if you pour boiling water over them to blanch them, that should work. Let them soak for a couple of minutes and drain.

Roast very slightly(in a warm oven keep watch they burn easly), then put in kitchen towel(while warm) fold the other half of kitchen towel over nuts and roll(rub) skins should come right off.
Inside the shell of a hazelnut is a rich and buttery nut that is encased in a dark brown skin. Now this skin is quite bitter tasting and needs to be removed before the nuts can be used for baking. This is done by toasting the nuts until they are brown and fragrant and the skins start to peel away from the nuts. Once the toasted hazelnuts are removed from the oven they need to be wrapped in a clean dish towel and allowed to steam for a few minutes. This 'steaming' softens the skins of the hazelnuts so they will easily slip away from the nut. Once the hazelnuts have been left to cool they are now ready for your recipe

Then if you have a slicone baking sheet, trivet, etc roll them in the middle and the silicone should help pull off the skin.
Blanch then in boiling water for a few minutes. The skins absorb the water and separate from the meat of the nut. You’ll be able to slip the hazelnut right out of the skin.
I suggest you boil them in hot water for about 10-15 mins
Place hazelnuts on a baking sheet and heat them for about 12 to 15 minutes, or just until fragrance starts to develop.
Remove from oven and place in a clean cloth towel.
Rub hazelnuts in the towel and most of the skin will come off.
Method 2
Place nuts on cookie tray in an oven set at 350 degrees F. Let nuts cook for 15 minutes. Take the nuts out of the oven and place in a clean dish towel and rub the nuts until the skins come off.
Tips t's very time-consuming to try to get all the skin off hazelnuts. So, it's alright if hazelnuts still have tiny pecks of skin on them.

Roast them gently in an oven watching that they do not catch too much. The quickly bring them out pour onto a towel and fold the towel over them and roll them between the two pieces of towel quite hard and this should shed most of the skins if not all.
Annother way is to blanch them and then slip the skins off - a bit like peeling tomatoes. Good luck. Peeled ones can be found.
