Slow cooker recipes, do you have a favourite you'd be as kind as to share with me?!


Question: Casserole

paprika ..a few teaspoons

worcester sauce few shakes

salt to taste

black pepper

red wine and water (to make the liquid)

mixed peppers/onions/leeks/mushrooms/carrots..... any veg you want but I don't use cauli/brocolli as it gives it a funny taste.

Meat of your choice, chopped into chunks

small tub single cream*

cornflour and water mixed to thicken*

cook for about 3 hours on high

Just chop and wash everything and throw it in, about 1/2 an hour or so before the end add *the cream and thicken with the cornflour

i dont weigh things,, i just bung in what i like and season to taste.................yummy

Got this receipe from a friend after trying it at her house, we cooked it and everyone loved it going to cook it again this week

Ingrediants:
Spicy Pork
1 kilo of cubed pork
1 large onion chopped
Chopped mixed peppers
Pinapple chunks
Mango chutney
Worster sauce
Medium Curry powder
Flour
Half a pint of chicken stock
Chili powder
Paprika

Intructions.
Brown pork and onions add one table spoon of curry powder same with paprika, a couple of pinches of chili powder, dash of worster sauce, flour then add half a pint of chicken stock , two to three rings of pinapple cubbed, put in slow cooker and add mango chukney to taste.
Cook until tender.
Thicken sauce if necessary.

Put 4-5 boneless chicken breasts in the crock pot. (You can use bone-in chicken, but I find boneless easier, because you have to remove all the bones after.) Pour a bottle of barbecue sauce with 1/2 cup of water over the chicken. Add whatever veggies you like (potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.) Cook on low heat for about 8-10 hours. Yum!!!

4lb beef roast
16oz jar sliced yellow bannana peppers (drained)
12oz can of beer

add all of these to crock pot and cook low setting 6 to 8 hrs

I bought a slow cooker cook book by Betty Crocker this past Christmas and my favorite recipe from their is Dill-Turkey Chower.

It is now my favorite thing to make!

BBQ chicken, jar of bbq sauce, carton of passata and chicken breast. Leave to cook for several hours. Serve with rice.
I do this at least once a month and it's always as nice as I remember!

4 chicken breasts
1 jar of salsa
1 onion sliced
`
1 green pepper sliced

1 tablespoon minced garlic

high for 6 hours

pull chicken apart

serve over rice

on in tortilla wraps with shredded cheese and soiour cream

In fry pan...put a little oil
Brown-roast of beef on all sides* (do not cook through, just Brown on all sides-to sear the meat)

add 2 garlic cloves diced - to bottom of crockpot
add the browned-roast beef ontop of garlic slices

pour 1cup balsamic vinegar into pot
put lid on
turn to LOW
cook 6-7hrs*

in fry pan, brown both sides of pork chops
season with salt/pepper

in bottom of slow cooker, add one diced onion, 3peeled/diced carrots, place the browned porkchops ontop...
add parsley, bbq sauce mixed with 1cup of water...pour over meat...put lid on ......cook on low for 5-6hrs*
make with some 5 min. rice* yum*
you can put sweet & sour sauce some pineapple juice (1cup)..add diced pineapple also* yumm

TAMALE PIE IN THE SLOW COOKER

1 lb. ground turkey
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1 1/2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1 pkg. (1 1/4 oz.) chili seasoning mix
1 can (16 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes, cut up
1 c. grated cheese

Brown meat and drain. In bowl, mix cornmeal, milk and egg. Add drained meat, dry chili mix, tomatoes and corn. Stir. Pour into regular sized slow cooker. Cover and cook 1 hour on high, then 3 hours on low. Sprinkle with cheese. Cook another 5 minutes. (6 servings.)

Grandma’s Barbequed Ribs

Country style pork ribs
2 onions sliced
3 tsp salt
3 tsp paprika
? tsp cayenne pepper
?-1tsp cumin
1 tsp black pepper
3 tsp chili powder
1 bottle ketchup
1 ketchup bottle of water

1. Place meat in a crock pot and cover with onions.
2. Combine remaining ingredients to make sauce; pour over meat and onions.
3. Cook until tender.

Roast
chuck roast
baby carrots
3-4 celery stalks
1-2 cans beef broth


1. Lay celery on the bottom of your crockpot
2. Place roast on top of celery
3. Place carrots around the roast
4. Fill about 1/2 way with broth
5. Cool on low for several hours
