Tasty stuffed bell pepper recipe?!
Can someone give me a good recipe? Something you have actually TRIED, not something you quickly pull off a website.
Thanks!
Answers: I want to make stuffed bell peppers but have no idea how. I would use ground turkey instead of ground beef.

(please don't hurt me!!!)
Brown your ground turkey with some garlic and onions. Make some rice... add the cooked turkey and rice with your favorite pasta sauce and stuff the peppers. Bake for about 25 minutes at 350...
At work as a vegetarian opton we regularly serve the pepper stuffed with soaked cous cous with red onion, chopped pepper, chilli and tomato in in and serve it with a tomato and sweet chilli coulis.
warm the filling, keeping it fairly moist, level off the bottom of the pepper so it stands up, take the top off, hollow it out, stuff it, drench it in olive oil and then roast it for about 10-15 mins.
Delicious
cook your meat with diced onions, tomatoes, salt and chilli powder to taste. cut peppers in half, clean, and blanch for three minutes in boiling water. stuff with meat. put as much cheese on top as you like, preferably cheddar. broil till bubbly and brown. serve with rice. (i dont like overcooked peppers)
daniels recipe sounds good too!
by the way thats cut in half lenghtwise
Try browning the ground turkey in a frying pan. Season with Cajun seasoning and pepper. Add some cooked rice and cook a few minutes to combine. Put the mixture into bell peppers and then bake them in the oven (I'd say around 325 or so).
I've never tried it, but I think you could pour BBQ sauce over the top before serving.
Buy your Bell Peppers.
Prepare your filling as follows:
3 tbsp Olive Oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 lb gr.turkey
1/2 cup celery chopped
1/4 cup chopped carrots( I would pre-cook these to soften in micrwave first for 3 minutes)
3/4 tsp granulated garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp oregano
1 tbsp liquid honey
1 can herbed tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce divided
1egg
Fry all ingredients in order given and add 1/2 the can of tomato sauce to the frying pan with ground turkey sauce
Let cool slightly. 1 egg can be added here to sauce to hold it together during baking in the oven..
Reserve the rest of the tomato sauce for the baking dish.
Cut the top of the peppers off --fill pepper with ground turkey sauce filling. Replace the lid if desired or cut pepper lids and add to tomato sauce in baking dish.
Bake the peppers in a pre-heated oven safe Pyrex dish at 350 degrees for about 1 hr-1 1/2 hr. covered with foil and remove foil for last 15 min. of baking.
You want the peppers to soften down while baking.in oven.
I make a vegetarian stuffed pepper using cooked lentils, cooked brown rice, sauteed onions & garlic, and diced canned tomatoes. Mix up a filling from the above ingrdients, (don't forget the herbs-oregano, basil, thyme, savory are all nice), fill your peppers, top with cheese and bake for 20-30 minutes at 375. Yum!
This is extra good if you cook the rice and lentils in V8 juice.
As silly as this sounds...I have found that using "cooked" hamburger helper........works well.
Prepare the "Helper to it's recepie...and then stuff the peppers for the oven. A crockpot also works well. You can get "creative and add ingredients to the "Helper" if you want.
I cook mine on top of the stove, have never baked them, but this recipe is the same as the one I use.
Easy beef stuffed peppers
1 pound lean ground beef (turkey)
4 medium green bell peppers
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup uncooked rice
3 tablespoons catsup, divided
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, divided ( I don't use)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1, 14 1/2 ounce, can Italian-style stewed tomatoes, undrained
Cut tops off bell peppers. Remove seeds and membrane.
Combine ground beef, onion, rice, 2 Tbsp. catsup, 1/2 tsp. oregano, salt and pepper, mixing lightly but thoroughly.
Spoon an equal amount of meat mixture into each bell pepper.
Place in 8 inch square baking dish.
Combine tomatoes, remaining catsup and remaining oregano.
Pour over stuffed peppers.
Cover baking dish tightly with foil.
Bake in 350 degree F oven for 1 1/2 hours.
