I need pork roast help!! ASAP!?!
I'm prepping this right now. this is my first roast and... i'm confused. It says a tied pork roast, so I bought a pork roast and it's tied in a net. I know you're not supposed to take that off until after you cook it, but how am i supposed to get all the panchetta and garlic on it or inside it? i thought maybe to untie it then retie it with dental floss, but we only have waxed so that won't work.
but the recipe is confusing me. am i supposed to put it on over the string wrap?

I hate those nets. The recipe won't work well over the net. Ideally you should have kitchen twine and retie it in just a few places.
If I were you, I'd take the net off, see how bad the roast opens without it. Use some wooden toothpicks to try to hold it closed.
The dental floss might not be so bad. It certainly won't be toxic (even if the wax melts) and chances are the roast will keep it moist so it won't burn.
Good luck!
You put it right on top of the net. And cover the pan with tin foil and bake it for a very long time so that it falls apart.
I would untie it and put the engriedients on it/in it then re-tie it with cotton string or twine (like the kind that is already tied on it)..not dental floss!!! If you can't do that then just put the stuff over and around it or something. Can you get to Home Depot or the grocery store quickly??You really should tie it otherwise the roast will just kind of lay there and be a blob. Good luck!
hi untied it put all the extra stuff in then get some white string and a the biggest needle you can find and sew it back up this will take up to 30 minutes to do ,,and when it is cooked you cut the string and pull it out and serve it ,,if you can reuse the net it came in
look at the ends of the netting be sure it is not plastic.
if you can roll the cloth tie off in one piece then unwrap it
see if you can cut each tie and maybe save enough to tie it back, when you have filled it. space the ties like every 3 inches instead of 2 inches, you can use turkey ties (pins)
or any white cloth that you can cut into thin strips even a clean tee shirt.will do.If you roll each string you make no one will know the difference.
Hey they made due on the prairie.
Good luck
You will cut the strings before you serve it on the serving tray
cut the goofy net off...stuff it and re-tye it with string...NOT DENTAL FLOSS!.(unless the pig had "dental" hygene issues...hee hee)
