What is your favorite grilled sandwich?!

Question: Recipe, please.

Answers: Recipe, please.

I like ham or turkey with sharp cheddar. The recipe is simple: Butter two slices of bread, place one on the hot pan (better to cook slow than fast so not too hot), then add one layer of cheese, then put the meat on, and place a second layer of cheese on top of the meat. Then place the second slice of bread on and wait until the bottom is golden brown and turn and when the second side is golden brown, it is done.

I like the cheese to be melted and the two layers of cheese with one layer of meat makes the sandwich stick together. For me that is important. If you like, it is also good to add your favorite mustard to the insides of the bread.

1 cup sliced, leftover corned beef
? a cup drained sauerkraut
2 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
2 slices Swiss cheese

Spread two slices of the bread with the Thousand Island dressing. Top each with ? a cup of the corned beef, a slice of Swiss cheese, and ? cup of sauerkraut. Top with the remaining slices of bread. In a preheated griddle or skillet, toast the sandwiches on each side until lightly browned. Makes 2 sandwiches.

They're good on rye bread, too.

Sourdough bread, havarti cheese, kalamata olives and roasted red pepper.

I also like a plain ol' tuna melt.

Grilled bologna and cheese with onion. Just like a grilled cheese, but I also add mayo before grilling. I usually do bologna, cheese, onion and then another piece of bologna. Of course butter both sides of bread and grill.

Grilled Turkey and gruyere cheese. Make it like a grilled cheese sandwich. I use Herb bread rather then white. Also I use olive oil in the pan instead of butter. It's my favorite comfort food!

mine's cheese, avocado, chicken with tomato relish and mayo. the tomato relish's tanginess takes the heaviness away.

i dont have a sandwich grill so i just use a pan and pan fry both sides, pressing so the cheese glue the bread together. (butter optional but i usually go without)

Peanut butter and banana. Just spread pb on bread, that's buttered on the other side. Add a banana sliced lengthwise and make just like you would grilled cheese.

Grilled Cream cheese sandwiches:

Cut very fresh french bread into 1/2 inch slices. Butter one side of each, put one side on pan. Cut a chunk of cream cheese to taste (mine are about 1/4 in to 1/2 inch thick). Spread on the bread. Top with the best tomatoes you can find. Salt and pepper. Add the other slice of bread, buttered side up. Grill one side until brown. Flip over, grill the other side until brown.
MMMMMmmmmm.

Try it, it's wonderful!
Chris
