How do you layer your lasagna?!
Answers: I've noticed alot of people have very specific ways of layering their lasagna's, I'm making one tonight & wondering which way you find the yummiest? :)
1. Sauce
2. Noodles
3. Cheeses (I use mozzarella, cottage cheese, and Parmesan)
4. Sauce
and so on, ending with a layer of sauce and cheese. Bake as usual, but let it set for at least 20 minutes before cutting. If you don't, it will be runny.
A like the noodle, meat, sauce, cheese, repeat method.
First I put down the meat sauce. Then I put the noodles. (Have you tried the no cook ones by Barilla?) Then i put down the ricotta cheese or cottage cheese, then the meat sauce, Then I sprinkle the mozzarella cheese. I keep doing that until I put the last layer of noodle. Topped with meat sauce and cheese. Thats how I like mine. Its wonderful.
noodle sauce cheese sauce
noodle sauce meat sauce
noodle sauce cheese
My favorite recipe!!!!
Pasta layer
Tomato sauce
Ricotta cheese mixed with spinach
repeat this two times for each lasagna
I love to use egg in the cheese mixture.... start with a small layer of sauce so the noodles don't stick to the pan, then do noodle/sauce/cheese/meat, pepperoni repeat repeat... Next time your are making lasagna make it the day before with the egg cheese mixture cook it, refrigerate it, and reheat it the next day for lasagna that stands up!!! Impress your friends
In italy original Lasagna Bolognese is made of Ragù, Besciamella, pasta and Parmesan cheese.
Ragù is sauce of tomato with oil, onion and meat. Put oil in a l large pan, add onion and meat. Put the tomato (or tomato sauce) and cook for 1 hour.
Besciamella is a milk sauce made with butter and flour in a little pan, when butter become brown add milk and mix (on fire) until you have a sauce; add salt and pepper.
Then you make your lasagna as usually:
Besciamella, ragù, cheese, pasta, besciamella, ragù, cheese, pasta, besciamella, ragù, cheese.
Well, I'm a bit of a radical.. I don't use ricotta, cottage, or any other really goopy cheese. I stick to the basic cheeses: mozzarella, parmigiano-reggiano, and maybe some provolone if I have to improvise. But, the layering is as follows (at least for my recipe): Sauce, Pasta, Cheese, Sauce, Pasta, Cheese, Sauce, Pasta, top it off with more cheese.
